UDC's Hillary Mugun Wins Delaware State Men's Invitational for Second Cross-country Meet Win in a Row, Kaneesha Hollis Finishes Eighth in Women's Event
Dover, DE: September 11, 2010-- UDC Cross-country runner Hillary Mugun (Accounting major-Nandi Hills, Kenya)outpaced all competitors today at the Delaware State University Invitational to win the event in 15:32.43 minutes. It was Mugun's second straight win this season, after capturing the Sea Gull Classic last week at Salisbury State. UDC finished second overall in the Meet.

Junior Criminal Justice major Kaneesha Hollis (Centreville, MD) led the Firebirds Women's Cross-country Team in their 5k event, finishing in 8th place. UDC women runners finished as follows:

UDC Head Coach Cross-country Coach Jasmine Rogers said of her
team's performances, " I'm proud of both our teams. They did well
against all Division 1 schools. Hillary did an excellent job
showing his dominance once again defeating the entire field of
runners. Linus and Zephaniah played a key role in the teams score
by finishing top 15.
I'm pleased to see the women steadily improving. With each meet
they are getting stronger. Kaneesha did exceptionally well placing
in the top ten.
The teams return to the course on Saturday, September 18, at the University of Delaware Invitational in Newark, Delaware.
