Khary Stockton Appointed New UDC Mens Soccer Coach
Washington, DC -- University of the District of Columbia Athletics Director Dr. Harold M. Merritt has announced the appointment of Khary Stockton as the University’s new head men’s soccer coach. Stockton took over the reins of the soccer program officially on July 16, 2007.
Stockton a native of Alexandria, Virginia, graduated from the College of William and Mary in 1993 with a bachelor’s degree in anthropology. His coaching experience includes serving as an assistant soccer coach at the Catholic University of America, where his responsibilities included player recruitment, and the development and evaluation of soccer player training. His work experience also includes years of teaching in the public school systems of the cities of Alexandria and Arlington, Virginia and Fairfax County, Virginia.
His professional soccer playing experience included stints with the New England Revolution, Richmond Kickers, Milwaukee Rampage, NY/NJ Metro Stars, and A.E. Velo Clube (Rio Claro, Brazil). He is the founder and director of Khary Stockton Soccer, LLC, which implements program strategies for after school soccer programs in collaboration with school officials and local park authorities.
Stockton has also earned credentials from
soccer organizations, including the USYSA National Youth License,
NSCAA Premier Diploma, and the US Soccer National “B”
License.
