Stevens Cadet has been hired as the new assistant men's lacrosse coach, as was announced by head coach Matthew Marrett, October 16th.

"Stevens Cadet has been a great pillar in his community for lacrosse," said head coach Matthew Marrett. "He puts in a lot of time to never forget the school that paved the way for him to be successful in lacrosse-that school being UDC. He showed great balance with student-athletes in the past and I know he will continue to do so. He is knowledgeable in the game of lacrosse and focused on improving the program's success."

Since graduating from UDC back in 2015 with his Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Cadet started his own youth lacrosse program back in his hometown, Elmont, NY with the Nassau County Police Athletic League. This collaboration made the local paper, received News coverage, sponsorship from the Nassau County PAL and donations from local High Schools.

Cadet recently completed his first professional season in the National Lacrosse Association (NLA), as a player for the Harlem Reign, who won the Championship. He is also the founder of Architect Industries, an AI company focused on developing large language models accessible by local CPUs and standardized GPUs

"Stevens Cadet has remained immersed in lacrosse since graduating from UDC," said AD Patricia Thomas. "He is bright, diligent and enthusiastic. Stevens and Head Coach Matthew Marrett relate well to student-athletes, have experienced success on the highest level in the sport, and are extremely loyal to the University of the District of Columbia. These two outstanding coaches are the formula necessary to lift our program to greater heights. The future is bright!"
