UDC Men's Lacrosse Overtaken by the Redhawks

WASHINGTON, DC- The University of the District of Columbia's men's lacrosse team fell to Roberts Wesleyan 18-10, in their second conference match-up of the season. The Firebirds fell to 1-5, 0-2 in the league, while the Redhawks improved to 8-1, 3-0 in the ECC.

Eric Boco and Zander Torres each netted three goals and Jeffrey Vo added two. Carnell Lofton Jr. won 18-27 face-offs and picked up a game-high 10 ground balls. Gerald Futrell had a game-high five caused turnovers followed by teammate Karson Gregory who had four. Najee Wilson had a tied game-high 12 saves in the second half.

The visiting Redhawks made their way on the scoreboard first with two back-to-back goals. UDC responded with three goals to take the lead before Roberts tied the game up 4-4 going into the second quarter. 

The Firebirds were outscored 8-3 in the second and blanked in the third giving the visitors a 16-7 lead going into the final stretch. UDC managed to cut that deficit in the last quarter but it wasn't enough as the Redhawks secured their third conference victory of the season.

UDC (1-5, 0-2 ECC) will travel to Maryland next Saturday to continue conference play in a match-up against Frostburg State. The game is set to begin at 1:00 pm and will be live-streamed on the ECC network.
