Lund-Murray Earns ECC Defensive Player of the Week; Hinton Earns Honor Roll

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY – The University of the District of Columbia Men's Lacrosse student-athletes – Nikolas Lund-Murray and LaRon Hinton earned East Coast Conference weekly honors for their respective performances in the week ending Saturday, April 15th. Lund-Murray was named Defensive Player of the Week and Hinton was an Honor Roll selection of the week.

Lund-Murray, a freshman from British Columbia, Canada, was outstanding in goal for the Firebirds, stopping 13 of 21 shots faced in a complete game victory. Lund-Murray allowed a season-low eight goals against Roberts Wesleyan, while helping UDC capture its 2nd conference win. The first-year goalkeeper now has over 10 saves in four games this season.

The Firebirds' leading goal scorer, Hinton, continued his terrific display, netting four goals and distributing one assist in the 10-8 victory over the Redhawks. The junior midfielder had six shots on goal, gathered four ground balls and added a team-high two caused turnovers.

Next up, UDC (4-6, 2-4 ECC), will host its Senior Day game on UDC Field, Saturday, April 22nd at 1 p.m. The Firebirds will take on ECC foe LIU Post.
