UDC Men's Basketball Tied for Third in ECC Preseason Poll
WEST BABYLON, N.Y.- the University of the District of Columbia's men's basketball team was voted to place third along with the College of Staten Island, in the ECC preseason poll, as was voted on by the league's head coaches.
The Firebirds finished last season with a 13-14 overall record and went 10-6 in conference play, finishing fourth in post season standings. They defeated the #5 seeded Staten Island in the quarterfinals and went on to compete in the semi-finals against reigning ECC Champions St Thomas Aquinas College.
UDC returns its top defensive pair of Hartnel Haye and Micah Campbell, who combined for 390 rebounds last season (7.22 rpg each); Campbell also finished fourth in the ECC in blocked shots, swatting away 46 attempts for 1.70 blocks per game.
