UDC Men’s Basketball Announces 2021-22 Schedule

WASHINGTON, DC- The University of the District of Columbia's Head Men's Basketball Coach, Mike Riley announced the schedule for the 2021-22 season.

"We are excited to get started and be able to play this season," says Riley. "We have new student-athletes from last year and this year who want the opportunity to compete because we did not play last season."

UDC wrapped up the 2019-20 season with an 11-17 overall record and a 6-10 record in the ECC. They have two returning players from that roster, Juanye Colon and Jahmir Marable-williams, and welcome seven new student-athletes.

"Our league will be competitive as usual; we will have to blend the new and young guys with the more experienced guys as quickly as possible. We will be tested early, 6 of our first 7 games are on the road."-Riley.

The Firebirds will start the season on November 12 with the two-day Tip-Off Classic at Dominican College and will play their first home game on the 22nd against Georgian Court. They will begin conference play in December, traveling to N.Y. on the first to compete against Molloy. They will also host Bowie State on December 4th in a double-header HBCU showdown.

The months of January and February will be comprised of all Conference games, six of which will be hosted in the UDC gymnasium, as they vie for a spot in the ECC Championships in March.
