Firebirds Fall on the Road 95-65

Amherst, N.Y. – Firebirds defeated 95-65 by Daemen.

Despite the loss, the Firebirds finished the game with four players scoring in the double digits. Junior guard Zachary Olukanni  led the Firebirds with 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting, seven rebounds, and two steals. Both senior guard Kevin Cox and junior forward Aaren Smith scored 11 points. Junior forward Consolo Adams in his first start of the year scored 10 points and a season-high three blocks.

All five Wildcats starters finished the game scoring in the double digits. The Wildcats were led by Andrew Sischo, who finished the game with 19 points on 7-of-12 shooting, 5-of-10 from free throws, and eight rebounds. Quinn Yee Law earned a double-double for the Wildcats on 13 points and 10 rebounds. The Firebirds blocked seven shots Sunday afternoon. Both teams shot well from the field with the Firebirds shooting 49 percent and the WIldcats shooting 51 percent from the field. UDC struggled to get to the free throw line, but were effective when there shooting 80 percent from the line.  

The Firebirds next game is a home vs ECC conference rival Bridgeport University on January 30th. Tip-off is at 7 p.m.
