Stellah Sang finishes 62nd in NCAA Cross-Country Championship

Joplin, Mo: November 17, 2007--UDC runner Stellah Sang finished in 62nd place in the NCAA Cross-Country Championship on Saturday, November 17, in Joplin, Missouri. Sangs upper one-third finish was disappointing to her, but still a major accomplishment, as she competed in a field of 189 runners.
Stellah Sang Places 1st in NCAA Southeast Regional

Wingate, NC: November 3, 2007University of the District of Columbia sophomore Stellah Sang led a field of 115 runners to win first place in the NCAA Womens Cross-Country Southeast Regional at Wingate University in North Carolina today. Sang stunned the field by finishing the course in 23:32, out pacing runners from schools in the 6K run that have perennially finished first in the event.

Stella Sang Finishes in First Place at Norfolk Invitational

Virginia Beach, VA: October 6, 2007-- UDC freshman Stellah Sang finished in first place today in the Norfolk State University Invitational in Virginia Beach, Virginia, posting a time of 18:38.00. UDC Head Cross-country Coach Marc J. Harrison said, Stella was impressive . to finish first against some elite MEAC teams proves that she is one of the best in our region she is gearing up for the NCAA Regional in November. This was the third consecutive meet in which she finished in first place.
UDC Cross-Country and Track Teams Participate in Blue Planet Run

Washington, DCThe cross-country and track teams of the University of the District of Columbia participated in the first-ever around-the-world non-stop relay on the afternoon of August 31, 2007. As the runners passed through Washington, DC, the Firebirds joined a multinational team of 20 international citizen athletes who have been running around-the-world non-stop since June 1, 2007 as a part of Blue Planet Run, which is raising awareness and funds to deliver safe drinking water to 1.1 billion people who are currently without access.
UDC Cross-Country Team Finishes 2nd in VUU Meet

Four colleges participated in the Meet, including the host, UDC, Virginia State University and St. Pauls College.
