Stella Sang Finishes in First Place at Norfolk Invitational

Virginia Beach, VA: October 6, 2007-- UDC freshman Stellah Sang finished in first place today in the Norfolk State University Invitational in Virginia Beach, Virginia, posting a time of 18:38.00. UDC Head Cross-country Coach Marc J. Harrison said, “ Stella was impressive…. to finish first against some elite MEAC teams proves that she is one of the best in our region…she is gearing up for the NCAA Regional in November.” This was the third consecutive meet in which she finished in first place.

Teammate freshman Irene Rono finished 8th, while junior Maurisa Williams placed 29th, sophomore Shakira Watford came in 31st, junior Danielle Cook 37th, senior Anne Wynn 38th, freshman Erica Nixon 39th and sophomore Ericka Cook 41st.

The Lady Firebirds finished in 6th place overall with 105 total points. They will be back in action on Friday, October 12, at the Virginia State University Last Chance Meet.
