Dowling, however, would close out the half on a 10-2 run, including three consecutive free-throws in the final seconds by Donte Adams to give the hosts their largest lead of the first half, 42-32, as both teams headed to the locker room for intermission.

With momentum on their side, the Golden Lions raced out to a 6-0 run to start the second half and quickly extended their lead to 49-32. Back-to-back three-pointers by Sidbury and another trey by junior guard Omar Abbas (Electrical Engineering – Alexandria, Egypt/Egyptian American School) helped UDC close the gap back to 10, 51-41 at the 16:44 mark.

This time, the Golden Lions marched out to a 16-5 run and took an insurmountable, 78-57 lead near the five-minute mark to essentially put the game away.
