UDC 2019 Women's Cross Country Schedule announced.
Washington DC- The University of the District of Columbia just announced it's 2019 women's cross country schedule.
The Ladies will compete in six meets this fall starting with the Adelphi Panthers Cross Country invitational on the 6thof September and ending with the East Coast Conference Championships on the 26thof October.
The Firebirds also welcomes five new faces to the team. Lavondae Douglas, kayla Stewart, Christine Taylor, Ayana Dozier and Kendra Williams, all of whom are DMV natives.
"Going into this XC season I expect the team to work on laying their foundation for the Indoor and Outdoor seasons," said Head Coach, Joel Phillip. "We do not have a dedicated "XC Team" so the ladies will use XC as a way to build their strength endurance. The goal is to be better than the previous race.... We have added 5 new student-athletes who will have a huge impact on the team's success. Ayana Dozier who is a multi-eventer, Lavondae Douglas a jumper, Kayla Stewart and Christine Taylor who are both hurdlers and Kendra Williams who does the throws. We are very happy to have these young ladies join our program and we are very excited to see them perform this upcoming year. "
