UDC Women’s Cross Country Finishes 8th at East Coast Conference Championship Meet

OLD WESTBURY, NY – The University of the District of Columbia women's cross country team finished 8th of nine teams with a total score of 244 at the East Coast Conference Championship meet on Saturday, October 21st at New York Institute of Technology.

The Firebirds' total time was 2:07:51.40 and their average time was 25:34.28, which was good enough to beat the University of Bridgeport (2:19:43.50, 27:56.70).

Senior Dabrin Snorton paced the Firebirds with a time of 24:09.39 – just 12 seconds shy of her season-best time ran two weeks ago at Delaware State. She placed 56th overall out of 79 runners.

Next in was freshman Dajour Jones in 24:38.96 at 61st, followed by senior Kenlyn Duncan at 65th, who once again shattered her season best time by 1:12 to finish in 25:36.07.

The fourth finisher for UDC was senior Shayna Hodge, who was only 21 seconds shy of her season best time as she came in at 26:25.53 to place 68th overall. Rounding out the top-five finishers for UDC was freshman Aisha Dozier in 27:01.45 to place 72nd.

Also finishing for UDC were: junior Shaneika Bowra (27:34.29), junior Shakeithia Nicholson (28:20.59), sophomore Shannell Hibbert (30:14.52), and senior Jasmine Walker (30:46.38).

This concludes the Firebirds' 2017 cross country season.
