Firebirds Finish in Pack at Adelphi Invitational
BETHPAGE, NY – The University of the District of Columbia women's cross country team finished 7th of eight teams with a team total score of 205 at the Adelphi Panther Cross Country Invitational on Friday afternoon.
Senior Shayna Hodge was the first Firebird finisher out of nine UDC runners, including a pack of five countable finishers who crossed the line consecutively in a span of under 54 seconds. Hodge completed the 5K course in 26:06.48 to place 39th overall, followed by sophomore Niasia Harding at 26:37.37 (40th), sophomore Temera Duncan at 26:51.31 (41st), Dabrin Snorton at 26:51.48 (42nd), and sophomore Shannell Hibbert at 26:59.96 (43rd).
Freshman Dajour Jones (27:36.69), senior Kenlyn Duncan (29:37.29), Aisha Dozier (29:38.27), junior Shakeithia Nicholson (30:09.07), and senior Jasmine Walker (30:32.67) all finished the race for UDC as well.
Next up, the Firebirds will travel to Smyrna, DE for the Delaware State Hornet Invitational on Saturday, September 9th.
