BROOKVILLE, NY – For the third consecutive year since becoming a member of the conference, the University of the District of Columbia women’s cross country team will compete in the East Coast Conference Championship meet hosted by LIU Post on Sunday, October 27th.

WASHINGTON, DC - Thursday’s men’s soccer contest at Wilmington University and Saturday’s home contest vs. Mercy College have both been postponed due to the government shutdown. Also, the women’s cross country team will not be competing in the Delaware State Hornet Invitational on Saturday.

Kay-Tiarra Johnson was the top finisher for the Firebirds with a time of 30:09.

BROOKVILLE, NY - Led by a strong performance by freshman Kay-Tiarra Johnson, the University of the District of Columbia Women’s Cross Country Team had improved performances across the board at the LIU Post Invitational held at the site of this year’s ECC Championships course.

PRINCESS ANNE, MD - The University of the District of Columbia opened its 2013 cross country season at the UMES Lid Lifter with strong finishes from last season's team most valuable runner, sophomore Simone Grant and freshman newcomer Kay-Tiarra Johnson.

Junior Rochelle Nelson was one of the team's top performers last year despite a shortened season due to injuries.

WASHINGTON, DC – The University of the District of Columbia women’s cross country team may be made up primarily of sprinters and jumpers rather than distance runners, but according to head coach Alton McKenzie, that does not mean the Firebirds cannot be successful this fall.

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY – The University of the District of Columbia women’s cross country team was picked to finish 9th of 10 teams in the East Coast Conference Preseason Poll, as voted on by the league’s head coaches.

Simone Grant returns for her sophomore season in 2013. She led the Firebirds at last year's ECC Championships meet with a 5K time of 22:27.

WASHINGTON, DC – Third-year head coach Alton McKenzie announced the University of the District of Columbia 2013 women’s cross country schedule on Tuesday, August 13th. The Firebirds are slated to compete in five invitational meets and the East Coast Conference Championship meet on October 27th in Brookville, NY.
