Sang Sets Another Course Record As The Firebirds Fly In The Rain

Frederick, MD: October 25, 2008-- Stellah Sang continued her tour of smashing course records as the Lady Firebirds competed at Hood College on Saturday.  She broke the course record at the Hood College Invitational in the pouring down rain, leading the ladies to a second place team finish.  The rest of the team fulfilled their roles with Irene Rono (8th), Demia Franklin (11th), Kaneesha Hollis (22nd), Latoya Allen (23rd).

The Lady Firebirds are ready for their big test in the new Atlantic Region.  The NCAA Regional Championships are November 8th at Slippery Rock University.  Sang is the defending Southeast Region champion and Runner of the Year from last year.  Effective in Fall 2008, UDC has been relocated to the Atlantic Region with the PSAC, CIAA, and WVIAC conferences.  This will prove to be a tremendous task for her to repeat that accomplishment but she is up to the challenge. " I was comfortable in the Southeast Region, this region is tougher.  I'm just having fun, getting ready for Indoor Track season..." said Sang.  "The ladies are excited about the opportunity to go to a Regional Championship" said Coach Harrison
