Lady Firebirds Volleyball Team Hang Tough in Tournament

West Chester, PA: September 13, 2008—The UDC Lady Firebirds Volleyball Team continues to play valiantly in the face of overwhelming odds as they face opponents that have as many as 18 players, while they only have 6 players available to them during a match. Unable to substitute, the Lady Firebirds have given everything they have, playing until they are bone tired, but never giving up.

This weekend, the Lady Firebirds played in the West Chester University Ram Fest and lost all matches as they struggled to finish each one. In the first match on Friday, they fell to host West Chester, 3-0 (25-21, 27-25, 25-13) . Later that evening, they were defeated by Kutztown University 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-16). On Saturday morning, Holy Family University defeated them 3-1 (25-12, 23-25, 25-12, 25-20) to end the UDC road trip.

Kudos to the Lady Firebirds for hanging in there in spite of the overwhelming odds against them.
