Tukey Francis Named ECC Track Athlete of the Week

WEST BABYLON, N.Y.- Tukey Francis was named the ECC's Track Athlete of the Week for her performances at the Morgan State Legacy Meet. Emmanuela Katou Kouami was also named to the honor roll.

Among Division I competition, Francis dropped two ECC-leading marks at the Annual Legacy Track & Field Meet. In the 200m, the UDC sophomore ran a 200m PR of 24.71, good for 12th in a field of 53 and first among all DII finishers; that performance ranks third in the NCAA East Region. She then ran the second leg of the 4x400m relay that placed second against six DI programs, defeating St. Peter's, Towson's A and B relays, Delaware State and NJIT. That relay leads the ECC and ranks second in the NCAA East. 

Kouami had a meet of personal records, hitting ECC-leading marks in both the hammer throw and discus throw at the Annual Legacy Track & Field meet. Kouami placed seventh in a field of 16 in the hammer throw with a UDC program record of 44.88m and went on to drop another UDC program record in the discus throw with a mark of 42.42m to place fifth in a field of 24.
