Firebirds Finish Third in Bison Classic
WASHINGTON, DC- The University of the District of Columbia's women's outdoor track and field team finished third at the Bison Classic, held on Saturday.
Dayna Thompson won the 400m clocking in at a time of 58.24s and went on to win the 4x400m relay along with Ayesha Jarrett, Tukey Francis and Iyanna Jackson. Their time of 4:00.14 is the fastest their relay has ran this year.
Kayla Cooper placed third in the Long Jump with a leap of 5.33m and ran second leg in the 4x100m that placed first with a time of 48.78s. Janel Baxter, Kayleigh Shelton and Jarrett were the other legs on the relay.
Jarrett (2:32.99) and Tukey Francis (2:34.70) competed in their first 800m of the season placing fifth and sixth overall to combine for three points.
Zoe Shaw placed second in the high jump clearing the 1.52m mark and placed fifth in the long jump with a leap of 5.00m.
Kendra Williams placd fifth in the Javelin with a throw of 20.23m.
UDC will head to Norfolk Virginia next Saturday (15th) to compete at the Norfolk State University meet.
