Firebirds Have Stellar Record Breaking Performances at Morgan State Legacy Meet

BALTIMORE, MD- The University of the District of Columbia's women's Outdoor Track and Field Team, had top performances at the Morgan State Legacy Meet.

The day started with Kamille Dixon making her debut in the 3000m Steeplechase placing second with a time of 11:57.48. 

The team of Iyanna Jackson, Ayesha Jarrett, Christine Taylor, and Shanise Rose placed second in the 4x100m relay with a season-best time of 48.84s which was also the fastest Division II time of the meet.

Jackson went on to run a school-record time of 12.00s in the 100m prelims to place ninth overall barely missing the finals. She also ran a season-best time of 25.03s in the 200m. Both times were the fastest Division II times of the meet and the fastest times in the ECC this season.

Rose then ran a season-best time of 14.51s in the 100m hurdles to qualify for the finals. She then came in the finals to tie the school record of 14.36s, which was good for a fifth-place finish and the second-fastest Division II time of the meet. Rose's time is also the fastest time in the ECC this season.

Jarrett ran a season-best time of 58.43s in the 400m, which was the second-fastest Division II time of the meet. She went on to run another seasonal best in the 200m with a time of 25.68s

The Firebirds are back in action next week as they head to Pennsylvania for the Penn Relays.
