Firebirds Finish Third at Maryland’s Kehoe Twilight Meet
COLLEGE PARK, MD – In its final meet of the season, the University of the District of Columbia Women's Track & Field team secured a third-place finish at the Kehoe Twilight Meet on Friday, May 5th, 2017.
Freshman Shanell Hibbert had an impressive 2nd place finish in the 100M by running a time of 12.65s, and she also flourished on the winning 4x400M Relay team, which finished in a time of 4:03.49. Hibbert also led the Firebirds to a 2nd place finish with a time of 47.60s on the 4x100M Relay. Her teammates included Stacy-Ann Rowe, Niasia Harding and Temera Duncan.
UDC's 4x400M Relay team, which included freshmen sensations, Shannell Hibbert, Temera Duncan, Diasia Greer and Niasia Harding, boasted an impressive time of 4:03.49s on their way to a 1st place finish.
In the Long Jump, senior, Brittany Okon finished 3rd with a leap of 5.42M, while Greer obtained a 4th place finish with a leap of 5.23M.
To round out the competition, Harding, finished 4th in the 400M Hurdles by running a time of 1:05.38.
