UDC Women’s Indoor Track & Field Team have Strong Showing in Season Opener

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA- The University of the District of Columbia's women's indoor track & Field team had strong performances in their season opener, Sunday at the KMS Opener.

In their college debuts, Ayesha Jarrett, Kamille Dixon, and Iyanna Jackson all had top meet performances. Jarrett placed first in the 600m with a time of 1:43.42, Dixon placed first in the Mile run with a time of 5:36.43 to break the previous school record time of 6:15.53 and Jackson placed second in the 60m with a time of 7.92s. Veteran, Shanise Rose also had a strong performance in the 60m hurdles placing second with a time of 9.33s and Danejah Kyle placed third with a time of 9.55s.

Jackson and Jarrett also placed 3rd and 6th in the 200m, and Jackson went on to help her teammates, Fanta Sanogo, Chacoia Wilkes and Dixon to a second-place finish in the 4x400m relay,

UDC is back in action on Friday, December 10, as they head to N.Y. to compete at the Seahawk Shoot Out.
