Firebirds Compete in Liberty Kickoff Boasting Season Bests
Lynchburg, VA- The University of the District of Columbia's women's track and field team competed in the Liberty Kickoff meet on Saturday January 25.
Senior Cierra Roberts led the Firebirds with some season best performances. She ran 59.82s in the 400m to place 20thout of a field of 61. Shannell Hibbert ran a season best time of 9.31s in the 60m hurdles to place 16thout of a field of 50.
The Firebirds had three strong season best performances in the 200m by Hibbert, Roberts and Shanise Rose. Hibbert placed 27 out of a field of 88 with a time of 26.03s, which was followed up by Roberts with a time of 26.41s and Rose with a time of 26.56s.
The Firebirds will take a break from competing next weekend but will be back in action on February 8thwhere they will compete at the Frank Colden Invitational.
