Newest USTFCCCA Poll Has UDC Ranked 8th in East Region; 4x400 Relay 14th in Nation

USTFCCCA Poll 

WASHINGTON, DC - With the release of the newest US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) poll, the Firebirds' 4x400 relay team have continued to hold strong as the 2nd fastest team in the region and 14th fastest in the nation among NCAA Division II schools.


The team of freshman Marlena Wright (Journalism- Bronx, NY/ Dewitt Clinton HS), junior Kaydian Jones (Journalism- Kingston, Jamaica/St Andrew HS), junior Rochelle Nelson (Mass Media- Kingston, Jamiaca/Holmwood Technical HS) and freshman Simone Grant (Health Education- Bronx, NY/Pelham Prep HS) ran this relay in 3:53.03 at the George Mason Patriot Games in Fairfax, VA on January 26th.


Along with this ranking for the 4x400 relay, District of Columbia as a team is ranked 8th in the East Region. These rankings are compiled each week and include all performances up to the release date.


The Firebirds will continue their tuning-up period this week in preparation for the first ever East Coast Conference Indoor Track & Field Championship in South Huntington, NY on February 23rd.
