Firebirds Earn Regional Win Over Chestnut Hill 6-1
PHILADELPHIA, PA- the University of the District of Columbia's women's tennis team defeated Chestnut Hill 6-1 in a road match up.
The pair of Mariona Franco and Claudia Bahamon won the first doubles match 6-2, at No.3. The Griffins then took the win at No.1 but the duo of Polina Zelentsova and Célia Bastin went on to clinch the doubles point for the Firebirds after battling to a 7-6(3) victory at No.2
UDC went on to secure their victory with staright set victories at No.1,2,3,4 and 6.
Up next, UDC (12-6) will host Kutztown University on Saturday at 1:00pm.
