Firebirds Defeat Lions on Senior Day
WASHINGTON, DC- the University of the District of Columbia's women's tennis team celebrated senior day with a 7-0 victory over Molloy University, Friday afternoon at the UDC Tennis Courts. The Firebirds end conference play with a 3-2 record and the Lions end with a 0-5 record.
UDC swept all three doubles matches to earn the one point adavnatge going into singles play. They went on to sweep the singles points as well ending with a score of 7-0 to close out the regular season.
Prior to the start of the match the Firebirds celebrated three seniors, Mariona Franco, Sofia Bellucco and Laura Marie.
Next up, UDC (6-2, 3-2 ECC) will head to N.Y. on the 27th to compete in the ECC Championships.
