WILMINGTON, DEL.- The University of the District of Columbia's women's tennis team fell to Wilmington University 1-6, Wednesday evening at the Delcastle Tennis Center. The Firebirds fell to 9-6 on the season and the Wildcats improved to 7-1.

Mariona Franco and Claudia Bahamon picked up a win at No.3 doubles, but the Wildcats took the doubles point securing wins at No.1 and 2.  

Laura Marie defeated her opponent 6-3, 6-2 at No.4 singles to win the Firebirds only point of the day. Franco and Celia Bastin both had three set affairs at the No.2 and 5 positions, but eventually conceded to their opponents dropping their tiebreakers. 

Up Next, UDC (9-6) will host Salem University on Saturday at the UDC Tennis Courts. Tip-off is set for 1:00 PM.
