UDC Women's Tennis Opens Conference Play with 7-0 Win Over Molloy University

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y.- The University of the District of Columbia's women's tennis team opened up conference play with a dominating 7-0 victory over Molloy University, extending their win streak to three games. The Firebirds improved to 3-0, 1-0 in the ECC and the Lions fell to 0-5, 0-1 ECC.

UDC secured the doubles point with wins at No.3 and 2. The first singles point came from freshman Célia Bastin who defeated her opponent with a convincing 6-0, 6-0 win at the No.5 position. Sofia Bellucco and Simoné Pärn brought the victory home with wins at No.4 and 1.

UDC ( 3-0, 1-0 ECC) will travel to Philadelphia next Sunday to face off against Jefferson with a slated start time of 2:00 PM.
