Laura Dimante Earns 2nd East Coast Conference Women’s Tennis Rookie of the Week Honor

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY – Freshman Laura Dimante of the UDC Women's Tennis team earned her second East Coast Conference Women's Tennis Rookie of the Week honor for her performance in the week ending Oct. 12.

Dimante (Business Management – Riga Latvia/Rigas Teikas) earned a straight set victory at No. 3 singles and a shutout, 8-0 victory at No. 1 doubles in the Firebirds' 7-0 win vs. Dowling. Her doubles teammate, senior Maxime Duijst (Biology – Valkenswaard, Netherlands/Pleincollege Sint-Joris), was named to this week's ECC Honor Roll for her performance as well.

The Firebirds (7-3, 6-2 ECC) have won three straight matches and will await their seed and semifinal matchup on Friday, October 24^th.
