Women’s Tennis Outdueled By Knights, 8-1

WASHINGTON, DC – The University of the District of Columbia women's tennis team was defeated by Queens College, 8-1 on Saturday afternoon in East Coast Conference play at UDC Tennis Courts.

Junior Maxime Duijst (Biology – Valkenswaard, Netherlands/Pleincollege Sint-Joris) earned the Firebirds' lone point with an exciting, 6-4, 6-4 third singles win over Jennifer Fridman. With the loss, UDC fell to 5-2 overall and 4-2 in ECC play.

The Knights (6-1, 5-1 ECC) swept all three doubles matches and won five of the six singles matches for the 8-1 victory.  

District of Columbia has nearly two weeks off before the Firebirds fly north to Buffalo, NY to take on ECC newcomer, Daemen on October 18th.
