Kristyna Nepivodova Earns CoSIDA First Team Academic All-District Honor

WASHINGTON, DC  - Senior Kristyna Nepivodova of the University of the District of Columbia women's tennis team was selected to the Capital One Academic All-District 1 First Team as chosen by the College Sports Information Directors (CoSIDA) on Friday afternoon. She is now eligible for Academic All-American honors.

A Second Team All-East Coast Conference honoree and the team captain, Nepivodova led District of Columbia to an 8-5 record that included a 5-2 conference mark and ECC semifinal appearance. She was 9-2 in singles play and teamed with Maxime Duijst for a 7-3 mark in doubles. Nepivodova was also named the team's Co-Most Valuable Player.

A Breznice, Czech Republic native, Nepivodova earned a cumulative 3.87 GPA in Economics. She earned a 4.0 GPA in the spring and fall of 2012, earned the D2 Athletics Directors Association Academic Achievement Award in 2011 and 2012. She also serves as the International Business Administration Honor Society President.

To qualify for Academic All-District, a student-athlete must maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 or higher, have reached sophomore academic and athletic standing at the institution and be nominated by the school's sports information director.
