WASHINGTON, DC – The University of the District of Columbia men's and women's tennis teams took the time to work on a facility improvement project at Walker Jones Education Campus on Saturday, February 2nd through the Hands on DC organization.

Nine student-athletes and head men's and women's tennis coach Dickie Mahaffey painted the stairwell railings at Walker Jones Education Campus, an elementary school on New Jersey Ave., NW. This project also involved setting up, pre-sanding the railings, and cleaning up afterwards.

"We really had a lot of fun working on this project together," Mahaffey said. "And at the end of the day, we felt really good about what we accomplished."

Hands on DC is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization that organizes projects to improve the physical condition of Washington, DC public schools.
