UDC’s Duijst and Nepivodova Win USTA/ITA East Regional “B” Doubles Championship

Philadelphia, PA—The doubles duo, Freshman Maxime Duijst and Junior Kristyna Nepivodova, competed in their third consecutive day at the ITA East Regional located at the Arthur Ashe Jr. Youth Tennis Center. The day was highlighted by the doubles pair winning their Semi-finals and Finals match-ups and taking the B-draw crown.

The Firebirds duo dominated in doubles play. Duijst and Nepivodova took on Chestnut Hill's Maria Parapouras and Morgan Oechsle in the Semi-finals match-up. UDC came out on top and won by a score of 8-6. Next on the list was their Finals match-up against Andrea Salvetova and Phoebe Cheim (Queens College). Duijst and Nepivodova took advantage of their opportunities and earned the victory by winning 8-3 and were crowned the USTA/ITA East Regional Women's B Doubles Champion.

Head Tennis Coach T. Richard Mahaffey was ecstatic with his team's performance and was proud of them for winning the tournament.

The Firebirds look to take this momentum into Friday when they travel up to Brookville, NY to take on C.W. Post.
