UDC Sweeps Maryland Eastern Shore in Tennis

Washington, DC: April 8, 2008--The University of Maryland Eastern Shore “Hawks” Tennis Teams found themselvesout matched on Tuesday, April 8, when they played the UDC “Firebirds” on the UDC Tennis Courts, as they lost both matches to the home team. The Lady Firebirds defeated the Lady Hawks 5-3, and the Firebirds defeated the Hawks 6-1 on an overcast, chilly day.

Team Captain and senior Patricia Ofori led the Lady Firebirds to the win with victories in singles
and doubles matches. Senior Eniola Bakare and freshman Sarah Bevar also won their singles and doubles
matches. Team captain, junior, Arda Kaytan, senior William Kellibrew and freshman Kirk Alexander led the
Firebirds to the victory with singles and doubles wins.
