Tennis Teams Fall in North/South Duels

WILSON, NC : MARCH 24, 2007---- Stiff competition and lack of numbers contributed to the losses suffered by the University of the District of Columbia Men’s and Women’s Tennis Teams this weekend during the North/South Duels Tournament in Wilson, North Carolina. Neither team was able to win a match as they fell to NCAA DI and DII schools in the Tournament.

The Lady Firebirds lost to Barton College (5-1), Mt. Olive College (5-0), St. Andrews College (8-1), and Limestone College (5-0). The Firebirds also came up short, losing to Barton (5-1), Chowan College (6-1), St. Andrews (7-1) and Mt. Olive (8-1).

The teams return to action next week with the Lady Firebirds hosting the Trinity University Lady Tigers on Monday, March 26, and both teams hosting the Trojans and Lady Trojans of Virginia State University on Tuesday, March 27.
