UDC Women’s Lacrosse Defeated by No. 3 LIU Post

BROOKVILLE, NY – The University of the District of Columbia women's lacrosse team was defeated, 19-0 by the No. 3 ranked team in Division II, Long Island University Post, in East Coast Conference play Saturday afternoon.

The Pioneers (9-2, 4-0 ECC) scored early and often, racking up seven goals in the first 10 minutes of regulation and cruising to the lopsided victory.

UDC (1-8, 0-3 ECC) was out-shot 30-5, lost all but one of 21 draw controls, and lost the ground ball battle, 22-7. The Firebirds were just 1-of-18 on clear attempts with 22 turnovers.

LIU Post featured 12 different goal scorers, including a nine-point scoring effort by Emily Delaney (3 goals, 6 assists). Thirteen of the Pioneers' 19 goals were assisted.

UDC junior goalkeeper Dani Falco had six saves in the loss, and LIU Post starting goalkeeper Oliva Kirk earned the win with two saves.

The Firebirds return to our nation's capital to host the University of Bridgeport on Saturday, April 16^th.
