UDC Women’s Lacrosse Falls at Molloy

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY – The University of the District of Columbia women's lacrosse team was defeated by Molloy College, 23-4 in East Coast Conference play at DG Skelos Complex on Saturday afternoon.

Junior Amber Walls (Biology – Temple Hills, MD/Surrattsville HS) and sophomore Jazmin Lopez (Graphic Design – Pembroke Pines, FL/Charles W. Flanagan) each scored a pair of goals and sophomore goalkeeper Dani Falco (Elementary Education – Middletown, NY/Valley Central HS) made nine saves.

Ten different Lions scored as Molloy won for the 3rd time in its last four games. Meghan Orlando was the key offensive facilitator with an ECC single-game high eight assists. Jessica Markowitz tallied a game-high five goals and Cooper Sesselman and Kim Pepe each netted hat tricks.

Molloy (6-5, 1-3 ECC) won 24-of-29 draw controls, won 27 groundballs to UDC's five, and out-shot the Firebirds, 38-8.

The Lions scored the game's first 12 goals and took a commanding, 15-2 lead at halftime. Lopez and Walls scored back-to-back goals early in the 2nd half to pull UDC within 12, but Molloy scored the final seven goals of the game for the lopsided victory.

UDC (0-7, 0-4 ECC) will visit Delaware St. on Wednesday, April 8th at 4 p.m.
