Shepherd Scores Early and Often in Win Over UDC Women’s Lacrosse

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV – The Rams opened the game on an 8-0 charge in the opening eight minutes of regulation and coasted to a 24-4 victory over the University of the District of Columbia in non-regional women's lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon at Ram Stadium.

Four different Firebirds scored, including: freshman attack Jazmin Lopez (Biology – Pembroke Pines, FL/Charles W. Flanagan HS), sophomore midfielder Tiara Goode (Criminal Justice – Brentwood, NY/Brentwood HS), senior midfielder Snezana Blagojevic (Business Management – Kragujevac, Serbia/Shepherd)  and junior midfielder Lana Oudat (Architecture – Damascus, Syria – University of Damascus). The four UDC goals tied a team season-high.

Shepherd was led by senior midfielder Christina Ferrara with three goals and four assists, while attackers Georgia Karr and Hunter Morris each scored four goals. Ferrara surpassed 200 points for her career on her and the Rams' Senior Day.

UDC freshman goalkeeper Dani Falco (English/Elementary Education – Middletown, NY/Valley Central HS) faced 34 shots on goal and made 10 saves. This was the second time this season she has stopped at least 10 shots in a game.

Meanwhile, Shepherd goalkeeper Lily Schmulowitz made one save while allowing four goals in a complete game victory.

The Firebirds (0-9, 0-6 ECC) will host East Coast Conference foe Bridgeport tomorrow, Sunday, April 27th at 11 a.m. in the regular season finale. Four Firebird seniors will be honored after the game: Snezana Blagojevic, Sara Stuart, Tara Usko and Nova Coston.
