Ryles Post Triple-Double; Firebirds Defeat Lions in Regular Season Finale

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y.- the University of the District of Columbia's women's basketball team improved to 19-9 on the season after defeating Molloy University 83-71, Saturday afternoon at Quealy Gymnasium.

Destiny Ryles became the first player in the ECC this season to post a triple-double, with 15 points, 15 assists and 12 rebounds. Shanell Haskins posted a game-and-season-high 21 points shooting 59.3% from the field. Tori Williams added 12 poimts and eight rebounds and Tania Hill came off the bench to add 11 points and four blocks.

UDC shot at 40.8% from the field while holding Molloy to just 26.6%. The Lions had the edge in rebounds (53-50) and second chance points (12-11).

The Firebirds close out the regular season with an 11-5 record in conference play and will await their final seeding at the conclusion of the Mercy vs STAC game later this evening. UDC will host Round 1 of the ECC Play-offs next Wednesday at 7:00pm at the E.B Henderson Sports Complex.
