Latavia Jackson & Destiny Ryles Earns First-Team All Conference Honors

WEST BABYLON, N.Y.- Junior and Sophomore guards Latavia Jackson and Destiny Ryles were named to the ECC First-Team, as was announced by the conference office Thursday. Both took turns this entire season leading the conference in points per game and are the programs first All Conference First-Teamers since Tajruba Baldwin-Kollore recieved the honor baxck in the 2015-16 season. 

Jackson finished the season averaginng 17 ppg (1st), 7.1 rebounds per game (9th), 45.5 field goal percentage (6th), and 2.1 steals per game (2nd). She recieved Player of the week honors twice this season while making it onto the weekly honor roll seven times. Jackson scored a career-high 33 points earlier this season and has scored in the double-figures in 25 games for a season total of 460 points. She pulled down career season highs of 191 rebounds and 11 blocks. She also posted four double-doubles.

Ryles also finished the season averaging 17 ppg, while swiping 2.8 steals (1st). She was the only player in the conference to earn ECC Player of the week three times, while also making it onto seven honor rolls. She finished the season with a total of 475 points scoring in the double-figures in 24 games, with her career-high of 31 points coming back in November against  Goldey-Beacom. Her total of 475 points is the highest scored by a Firebird since Tajruba Baldwin-Kollore scored 493 back in the 2015-16 season.
