WASHINGTON, DC- The University of the District of Columbia's women's basketball team celebrated Halia Ellis, Saturday afternoon, at the E.B Henderson Sports Complex, prior to their game.

As a Freshman, Ellis started 26 of the 28 games she played in and finished the season with 101 assists. During the 2021-22 season she helped her team to a post-season appearance, for the first time since the 2015-16 season. She averaged 8.5 ppg and scored a career-high 22 points against Millersville earlier on in the season, shooting at 100% from the field. Since the start of the 2022-23 season, she hit a career high six trey's against Cheyney University. Ellis is known in the conference as a lock-down defender and will compete in the conference tournament for the second time in her career, next month. She will be receiving her Bachelor's degree in Business Management in May.
