Daeja Quick Named East Coast Conference Rookie of the Year and 3rd Team All-Conference 

WEST BABYLON, NY – The University of the District of Columbia's Daeja Quick was named Women's Basketball Rookie of the Year and she was selected Third Team All-Conference as announced by the conference office on Friday, March 2nd. 

Quick, a freshman guard from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was the highest scoring freshman finishing 4th in the conference with an average of 16 points per game playing in all 18 conference games for the firebirds in her 1st season. She made an impressive total of 448 points to finish 4th overall, had 62 steals to place 5th, and finished in the top 10 for assists with a total of 74. 

A six-time ECC Rookie of the Week award winner, Quick became a consistent points scorer for UDC and had a game-high 27 points when she went 8 for 8 on free throws in the Firebird's 79-75 loss to Molloy. She scored 20 points numerous times during the season to lead the firebirds in scoring.
