Daeja Quick Earns 6th East Coast Conference Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week Honor

WEST BABYLON, NY - The University of the District of Columbia's Daeja Quick earned her 6th East Coast Conference Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week honor this season for her performance during the week ending February 18th.

The impressive freshman averaged 24.0 points and 3.0 steals per game over two contests. In Wednesday's loss to LIU Post, she finished with 22 points and six assists and on Saturday, she scored a game-high 26 points and swiped four steals in a loss to NYIT. Quick shot 48.5 percent from the field on the week, and making 16-of-33 shot attempts.

Currently third in the ECC for points per game with an average of 16.0, she is also 2nd with a remarkable 62 steals, 8th in assists with 72, and 6th overall for turnovers.

Quick and the Firebirds will be looking to end their season with a win against ECC contenders St. Thomas Aquinas, Saturday, February 24th.
