Daeja Quick Earns 4th East Coast Conference Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week Honor

WEST BABYLON, NY – The University of the District of Columbia's Daeja Quick earned her 4th East Coast Conference Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week honor this season for her performance during the week ending January 21st.

Quick averaged 19.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.7 steals and 2.0 assists per-game over three games for the Firebirds last week. She shot 40.9-percent (18-of-44) from the field and 31.6-percent (6-of-19) from three-point range. She also collected 12 rebounds, eight steals, six assists and one blocked shot.

The dynamic guard out of Pittsburgh, PA scored in double-figures in all three of UDC's contests last week, including a 13-point scoring effort vs. Virginia Union on Monday, a game-high 26 point scoring performance vs. LIU Post on Wednesday, and a team-best 18 points vs. NYIT on Saturday.

Quick is currently 3rd in the ECC and 11th in the Division II East Region (tops among freshmen) in scoring at 15.9 points per-game, as well as 9th in the conference in assists (2.6 apg) and 3rd in steals (2.3 spg).

Quick and the Firebirds (2-17, 0-9 ECC) will visit Molloy on Wednesday, January 24th and return home to host Queens College on Saturday, January 27th.
