UDC Head Women’s Basketball Coach Juan Dixon Featured in HBO’s ‘Real Sports’

WASHINGTON, DC – Just a few months before Juan Dixon was hired to be the head women's basketball coach at the University of the District of Columbia, he met his biological father for the first time.

Don Markus of the Baltimore Sun originally told the improbable story of Dixon forging a relationship with his biological father, retired Baltimore County correctional officer Bruce Flanigan, last November. This story was told again on Tuesday night's episode of HBO's "Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel".

"I thought it was an astonishing story," "Real Sports" correspondent David Scott told the Washington Post's Scott Allen.
