UDC Women’s Basketball Remains Ranked No. 7 in Week 2 NCAA Division II East Region Poll

INDIANAPOLIS – The University of the District of Columbia remained at its No. 7 ranking in the Week 2 NCAA Division II Women's Basketball East Region poll released Wednesday afternoon.

The Firebirds are 19-7 overall and sit T-2^nd with Roberts Wesleyan College at 14-4 in the East Coast Conference with two conference road games remaining.

The first of those two remaining ECC road games is on Thursday, February 25^th vs. league-leading New York Institute of Technology (17-2), who is ranked No. 4 in the East Region with an overall record of 23-7. The season finale is Saturday, February 27^th vs. LIU Post.

UDC, which won 13 straight games from November 29^th to January 29^th, has beaten nine of the other 10 teams in the ECC at least once this season and so far swept five conference foes. The Firebirds also boast 10 double-digit victories this season.

The top eight teams in the East Region (comprised of the Northeast-10, Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference and ECC ) after the conclusion of the conference tournaments will earn bids to the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Tournament.
