UDC Women’s Basketball Remains Ranked No. 7 in Week 2 NCAA Division II East Region Poll
INDIANAPOLIS – The University of the District of Columbia remained at its No. 7 ranking in the Week 2 NCAA Division II Women's Basketball East Region poll released Wednesday afternoon.
The Firebirds are 19-7 overall and sit T-2nd with Roberts Wesleyan College at 14-4 in the East Coast Conference with two conference road games remaining.
The first of those two remaining ECC road games is on Thursday, February 25th vs. league-leading New York Institute of Technology (17-2), who is ranked No. 4 in the East Region with an overall record of 23-7. The season finale is Saturday, February 27th vs. LIU Post.
UDC, which won 13 straight games from November 29th to January 29th, has beaten nine of the other 10 teams in the ECC at least once this season and so far swept five conference foes. The Firebirds also boast 10 double-digit victories this season.
The top eight teams in the East Region (comprised of the Northeast-10, Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference and ECC ) after the conclusion of the conference tournaments will earn bids to the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Tournament.
