Tatyana Calhoun Earns East Coast Conference Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY - Freshman Tatyana Calhoun has been named East Coast Conference Women's Basketball rookie of the week for her performance in the week ending February 24th.

Calhoun (Environmental Science - Disputanta, VA/Sussex Central HS) averaged 13.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per-game while also collecting four steals in a 1-1 week for the Firebirds. She had eight points and 10 rebounds in a loss at Queens last Wednesday, then erupted for a season-high 19 points with seven rebounds in a win over Molloy on Saturday.

Calhoun is No. 5 in the ECC in offensive rebounds with 82 and ranks 16th in the league in rebounds per-game with 6.0. She is the first Firebird player to earn an ECC weekly award this season.

District of Columbia will play its season finale against ECC foe Mercy on Saturday, March 2nd.
