University of the District of Columbia's Stacy Griffith and Dyrek Jones Pepper ECC Basketball All-Tournament Teams

FLUSHING, NY - Senior forward Stacy Griffith of the women's basketball team and junior forward Dyrek Jones of the men's basketball team each represented the University of the District of Columbia on their respective East Coast Conference All-Tournament team.

Griffith (Fredericksburg, VA - Riverbend HS played inspired basketball with 12 points and eight rebounds as she tried to will the Firebird women's team to victory in the semifinals Saturday versus St. Thomas Aquinas College. She made three layups during UDC's frantic 15-5 run at the end of regulation, but the Firebirds were eliminated by a narrow, 63-61 loss to STAC.

Jones (Brooklyn, NY - Bedford Academy HS), who was named the ECC defensive player of the year the night prior to the game, made his impact felt on the defensive end in the men's semifinal game versus Bridgeport Saturday night. The nation's fifth-ranked shot blocker tied his school-record as he sent away 10 shots and grabbed six rebounds in a 76-65 loss to Bridgeport.
