University of the District of Columbia Men’s Basketball Ranked No. 23 in Nation, 6th in East Region; Women’s Basketball 5th in East Region Polls
WASHINGTON, DC – The University of the District of Columbia men's basketball team earned a No. 23 ranking in this week's NABC Division II poll, and the Firebirds were ranked No. 6 in the latest East Region poll. The women's basketball team dropped out of the national top-25 but remain in 5th place in the East Region.
The Firebird men's team finished the regular season with a record of 22-4 and earned a No. 2 seed in this week's East Coast Conference Tournament hosted by Queens College. They play the winner of the quarterfinal game tonight between No. 6 Molloy and No. 3 Bridgeport in the semifinals on Saturday, March 3rd at 7:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, the women's team finished the regular season with a record of 21-5. They too, will be a No. 2 seed in the ECC Tournament at Queens, where they await the winner of the quarterfinal game tonight between No. 6 Molloy and No. 3 St. Thomas Aquinas for a semifinal matchup on Saturday, March 3rd at 2:30 p.m.
