GAME PREVIEW: University of the District of Columbia Women's Basketball vs. Queens

FLUSHING, NY - The University of the District of Columbia women's basketball team will look to tie its season-high winning streak of seven games as the Firebirds visit East Coast Conference foe Queens College on Saturday, February 4th at 3:30 p.m.

District of Columbia, winners of six straight conference games, comes into Saturday's contest with an overall record of 16-3 and a league mark of 7-2. Senior forward Dohnay Banice (Wilmington, DE - Williamson HS) and senior guard Lauren Brittingham (Washington, DC - Potomac HS) have both played key roles during the Firebirds' six-game win streak. Banice is averaging 13.5 ppg and 9.7 rpg and Brittingham has registered 18.8 ppg and 5.8 apg. The Firebirds have also benefitted from tremendous bench play. Sophomore guard Julissa Anderson (Greensboro, NC - Southeast Guilford HS) scored a season-high 12 points off the bench her last time out, and senior center Aida Gueye (Alexandria, VA - TC Williams) provided five rebounds.

Queens has struggled all season long, as the Knights comes in with an overall mark of 1-19 (0-10 ECC). The Knights' lone win of the season came on Nov. 30 against non-conference foe Nyack. They are last in the conference in scoring offense (49.2 ppg) and scoring defense (70.4 ppg) and turn the ball over a conference-worst 24.6 times per-game.

The Firebirds won the last meeting between these schools at UDC Gym back on Jan. 4 by the lopsided score of 84-41.
